Sardine Run

South Africa

South Africa

On the contrary of Indonesia, where everything is slow, warm waters and some tranquility in air, South Africa rocks and it’s full of adrenaline! Massive waves, high energy of local people, dozens of big sharks on every dive, whales, elephants, Rhinos, Crocs – there is just SOMETHING ENERGIZING about South Africa! And there are sharks! A LOT OF SHARKS!

During the period of Jun – July, we will organize Sardine Run trips and Africa Shark Adventure and during Feb – March, we will do only Africa Shark Adventure.

Africa Sardine Run

Have you ever seen on Discovery channel or Blue Planet that episode when massive schools of sardines are gathering and then there are sharks, dolphins and whales chasing them from below and birds dropping from the sky down to 25m depth? Well that’s Sardine Run! One of the biggest migrations on Earth and Holy Grale for each diver. I will say no more...

This phenomena occurs from May till September, but as for all our other trips, we choose the time when there are most chances for the best action!

NOTE: Sardine Run is not for everyone. Swell can be 3-4m, cold wind, we stay out on tender-boats from 7am - 3pm, all your physiological needs must be done in the ocean, water is 18-20 Celsius and air 20-25 but can be quite windy. Mostly we do snorkeling as bait ball is constantly moving and all action is happening on the surface but however, we will bring one scuba tank for each diver.

It’s difficult, it’s physically demanding but it’s definitely worth of every single calorie spent!!!
